Father, you entrusted your most precious son, Jesus Christ, to the care of an earthly mother, Mary. Remembering her example of willingness, humbleness of heart, and loving kindness, we pray for God’s Church and children throughout the world, saying “Kyrie Eleison.”

We ask your prayers for the children of St. Mary’s, of our tri-state community, the nation, and the world. May our children have opportunities to learn, play, and grow. May they have safe homes and stable, loving families. May they be filled with hopefulness for bright and joyful futures.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for those who dedicate their lives to the care, health, education, and upbringing of children: teachers, nurses, doctors, counselors, social workers, caregivers, and, most of all, those who serve as parents. Bless them with patience, wisdom, strength, and steadfast love, that they may provide safety, support, and love to our most precious gifts.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for the community of St. Mary’s. Bless the efforts of St. Mary’s children’s ministry, that it will flourish and grow, and that it will provide a firm foundation for our littlest saints. Bless the efforts to increase youth and adult literacy. Bless the Christmas Box Project and Repair Affair. Bless the healing ministry and the Daughters of the King. Bless those who share the gift of music during worship. Bless those who serve on the Altar Guild, the Vestry, and those who tend to our grounds.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for the Earth we inhabit today, and the one that our children will inherit tomorrow. Grant us the wisdom to balance the progress of food and fiber production with the conservation of the environment, for the wisdom to balance local economies with sustainability, and for the wisdom to consider both the Earth’s growing population and our finite resources.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for peace on Earth, wherever harsh words are said, wherever guns are not silenced. We ask particularly for the blessing of peace upon Iraq, and upon the work of the Reverend Canon Andrew White, vicar of St. George’s Anglican Church in Baghdad. For him and for all who are drawn into conflicts either by misfortune or by the desire to help, protect them, provide for them, and bless them with perseverance.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for our world’s leaders, at the global, national, and local levels, for those who shape our world now, and for those who our children will one day become. Grant them wisdom in their decisions, and lead them to promote the dignity and freedom of every person.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for Katherine, our presiding Bishop, for Doug our Bishop, for Fr. Peter, our priest, and all those who minister to the needs of your people. Empower them to be faithful ministers of your Word and Sacraments.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for those who all those who are sick or suffering. Heal and mend those who are broken, and give your power of healing to those who minister to those in need. Strengthen them in their weakness and bless them with confidence in your loving care.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for those who suffer with mental illness, that they have the courage to ask for help, and to know that they are loved and worthy of that love. Grant their families understanding and patience. May all be enveloped in compassionate love.

Kyrie Eleison

We ask your prayers for the repose of the faithfully departed. May they have rest in your eternal kingdom, and joy in your eternal presence.

Kyrie Eleison

Rejoicing with those in every generation in whom Christ has been honored, but especially with the ever blessed Virgin Mary and those who over the past 125 years have called St. Mary’s home, let us commend ourselves, and one another, and all our lives to God.

To thee Oh Lord our God.

(Prayers composed by the Kyrie Eleison chapter of the Order of Daughters of the King)
