As Daughters of the King, we pray daily for the health and needs of our home parish. However, we also pray for a number of institutions within our diocese that are dear to our hearts. One of these is St. Agnes’ House, which as described on its website is “a nonprofit, ecumenical mission providing economical lodging for patients and their caregivers who have traveled to Lexington, Kentucky seeking treatment for serious illnesses at area hospitals and other medical care facilities. ” On the house’s Facebook page today, the following public request was made:
On this Monday, please pray for all of our guests here at St. Agnes House. Pray for comfort during these challenging times for them….
Today, we remember St. Agnes House in our prayers:
Most merciful God, giver of life and health: bless those who are in the care of your servants at St. Agnes House, and give the power of comfort to those who tend to them, that those for whom we pray may both meet the challenges of the illness they face and know that they are in Your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
