The internet age has certainly changed how we reach out to others as Christians. Even a decade ago, it would have been a novel idea to have a Daughters of the King chapter blog like this one! Christians today reach out to the world through a variety of social media: Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr, blogs, and numerous other outlets help to spread the message of Christ’s love. Below is a lovely sentiment that is making the rounds about today. The following prayer first appeared on the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia Facebook page, and was shared by the Washington National Cathedral Facebook page. Thanks to both for sharing, and to Meredith Gould for reminding us of the myriad of opportunities that are open to us in the modern era!
“Christ has no online presence but yours,
No blog, no Facebook page but yours,
Yours are the tweets through which love touches this world,
Yours are the posts through which the Gospel is shared,
Yours are the updates through which hope is revealed.
Christ has no online presence but yours,
No blog, no Facebook page but yours.”
Prayer based on “Christ has no Body” by St. Theresa of Avila
by Meredith Gould, author of The Social Media Gospel.
